Panthers' Ekwonu Out with Knee Injury
Injury Update on Ikem Ekwonu
The Panthers are facing a tough situation with their offensive line in the first half of their wild card game against the Rams. Left tackle Ikem Ekwonu has been ruled out due to a knee injury.
Details of the Injury
Ekwonu got hurt during Carolina's second possession when he was sacked on second down. Reports indicate that he managed to walk off the field slowly before going to the medical tent on the sidelines. Shortly after, he was seen being taken to the locker room on a cart for further checks.
Impact on the Game
This season, Ekwonu has been a key player, starting 15 games for the Panthers. With him out, Yosh Nijman stepped in to take over the left tackle position. Ekwonu had previously undergone an MRI for knee discomfort in mid-December, which caused him to miss a game against Tampa Bay.
