Lampela Wins Despite Rain Challenges

Weather Challenges Affect Performance
Elina Lampela emerged as the top performer in the women's pole vault at a recent event held on the main street of Innsbruck, Austria. The competition faced disruptions due to rain, which negatively impacted the athletes’ performances.
Competing Under Difficult Conditions
Clearing a height of 443 cm secured Lampela's victory on her third attempt. She described the difficulties posed by the weather, stating, "It was hard to keep warm, as there was limited space for warming up and the equipment got wet. It’s hard to be satisfied, given the number of no jumps that occurred." Lampela also attempted to clear 453 cm but faced two no-jumps out of three attempts.
Upcoming Competitions
Despite the adverse conditions, Lampela plans to continue her season with events scheduled in Greece and Sweden's Diamond League. Saga Andersson finished in third place, achieving a height of 433 cm, showcasing a commendable effort amid challenging weather.
