Reusser's Victorious Start at Giro

Reusser Takes Early Lead
Marlen Reusser, competing for Movistar, demonstrated impressive form in the first stage of the Giro d'Italia Women, capturing victory in the individual time trial in Bergamo. Her time of 17 minutes and 22 seconds placed her at the top of the General Classification (GC).
Key Standings
Reusser's success was marked by a finish that saw her 12 seconds ahead of her closest rival, Lotte Kopecky of SD Worx-Protime. Last year’s champion, Elisa Longo Borghini, finished in third, crossing the line 16 seconds behind Reusser. Consequently, Reusser earned the opportunity to wear the pink jersey as she advances into Stage 2, which covers a distance of 99 kilometers.

Close behind is Lieke Nooijen of Visma-Lease a Bike in fifth place, trailing by 24 seconds. The top ten is rounded out by Alessia Vigilia (FDJ-SUEZ), Monica Trinca Colonel (Liv AlUla Jayco), and Shirin van Anrooij (Lidl-Trek), all within 41 seconds of Reusser’s time.
