Cizeron and Fournier Beaudry's Olympic Path
Olympic Aspirations
Guillaume Cizeron, an Olympic champion, is gearing up for the upcoming 2026 Winter Games in Milan alongside his new partner, Laurence Fournier Beaudry. This Canadian skater, awaiting naturalization, made their public debut during a recent tour in Japan, sparking anticipation for their performance in the lead-up to the Olympics.
Grand Prix Circuit Participation
The duo will start their season at the Masters event in Villard-de-Lans from August 28-30, followed by the Grand Prix of France in Angers scheduled for October 17-19. The International Skating Union has outlined the Grand Prix circuit, with their participation in Finland from November 21-23 and a potential Grand Prix final in Japan in early December.
Strategic Competition Choices
Romain Haguenauer, one of their coaches in Montreal, shared that the choice to compete in these events is strategic, allowing adequate time to adjust and improve before facing additional challenges. The Grand Prix in Angers will be particularly revealing, as Cizeron and Fournier Beaudry will compete against notable world medalists, providing a benchmark for their progress.
