Charlie Woods Misses U.S. Open Again

Charlie Woods, the 16-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods, was unable to qualify for the U.S. Open for the second consecutive year. Competing in the local qualifying event at Wellington Golf Club in Florida, Woods recorded a score of 3-over-par 75. Unfortunately, this score was insufficient to meet the qualifying standard, leaving him seven strokes shy of advancing.
Improvement in Performance
This year’s performance shows progress compared to his last attempt in which he scored 9-over 81 at a qualifier at The Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Although he did not qualify for the U.S. Open, Woods secured a spot in the U.S. Junior Amateur tournament last year, where he fell short by 18 strokes in making the cut for the next round.
Top Qualifiers Stand Out
In the latest qualifying round, Arth Sinha shone with an impressive score of 6-under 66, claiming the top position. He finished just one stroke ahead of Matthew Marigliano. Other qualifiers for the final stage included Tyler Stachkunas, Carson Klawonn, and Michael Gligic, all of whom will compete in 36 holes at Emerald Dunes in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Looking Ahead
The 2025 U.S. Open is scheduled to take place from June 12 to 15 at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania. As the tournament approaches, anticipation builds among competitors and fans alike.
