The injury involved the extensor carpi ulnaris tendon, prompting him to undergo surgery on August 21. After nearly three months without swinging a club, he gradually resumed hitting balls, working towards his return to the course.

Spieth emphasized that his approach upon returning is not about making drastic changes but revisiting fundamental techniques that have historically benefited his game. He noted that the downtime allowed him to reassess his swing and eliminate bad habits that had developed over time.

His planned return coincides with AT&T's 40th year as the title sponsor of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a tournament that has been a significant part of Spieth's career since he has held a corporate partnership with AT&T since 2014. Spieth's immediate focus is to regain his competitive rhythm over the next few weeks, participating in multiple tournaments leading up to the Masters.

Currently ranked No. 70 in the world, Spieth aims to improve his standing and secure his place in significant events, despite needing sponsor exemptions for some tournaments. His long-term aspirations include completing the career Grand Slam by winning the PGA Championship and excelling at The Players Championship. Spieth expressed his desire to regain the confidence that comes with consistently finishing in the top ranks of tournaments.
